The Holiday Inn & Suites in Beaufort, SC is looking for a Bartender/Server with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.

A Bartender’s primary duty is to create a friendly and welcoming atmosphere for hotel guests and lounge patrons to meet Holiday Inn brand standards. This includes providing guests with timely and efficient service, communicating effectively with fellow team members, mixing, garnishing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks according to company specifications for guests at the bar and in the restaurant, keeping neat and accurate record of all food and beverage transactions, and utilizing POS system to post sales to the proper guest’s account. Also includes checking ID’s to confirm legal drinking age, maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary work environment, completing open and closing side work as assigned, assisting in turnover from one event to another and setting up for functions and dining. He/she will take orders and serve food and beverages promptly, and keep the bar stocked and clean while always providing friendly and attentive service.

Must utilize suggestive selling; recommend cocktails, appetizers, and desserts when appropriate. Requires familiarity with hotel and franchise standards and procedures, bartending etiquette, and ability to attend to the needs and requests of customers.

Thorough knowledge of all in-house amenities along with local information to assist guests are required. When daily tasks are completed, he/she may be asked to assist with other duties. Must be fully knowledgeable of all menu items and prices, daily specials, and register system.

Bartenders must possess strong customer service skills, have a friendly and outgoing demeanor, the ability to accurately and efficiently input information into computer systems, and work cohesively with all hotel team members. Must be able to stand for long periods of time.

Bartenders must be in proper uniform with name tag at all times.

Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, which includes weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime.

The Bartender position requires at least a high school diploma or GED. Four plus years of experience as a bartender required. Previous experience in the hospitality or hotel industry is recommended.
